3 things you can do with your cell phone to reduce stress

When it comes to our daily lives. There is enough pressure and responsibility to go around. Our phones are meant to help us do more with less. However the reality is for many people the smartphone has taken over our lives. Here are 3 ways to create a work life balance with your beloved smartphone.

1. Notifications

Go through all your apps, mostly social media feeds and remove the notifications from instagram, facebook, youtube, twitter and others. Social media should be there when you are ready to browse. Just because Bae or fiddy just posed a picture that you need to see it right away.

2. Sounds

A sound makes it seem urgent. When it comes down to it. Nothing is truly urgent unless it's a phone call. You already look at your phone a few hundred times a day so no need to look for every message. Look when you are ready to look and answer any messages or emails when you are ready to answer them.

3. Do Not Disturb

Most smartphones have a do not disturb mode. You can set it from 5:00pm to 9:00am. This will allow your phone to receive messages and calls but never ring between those hours. Allowing you the time you need to recover after a long day at the office.

The only sound your phone should make is for calls. Use the phone when you are ready to use your phone. Not when it tells you. Bae can wait.
