It's a difficult task to summarize something into our own words which is meant to be subjectively interpretive. Instead of trying to explain it as about us, perhaps it is really about you. The idea of you is what Babylon is. You make it up and you keep it strong. You are the economy, the advertiser, promoter, actor, propogator, critic, patron, security, karma, fighter, follower, leader, scenester, fashionista..........community and music.
We are a humble jukejoint divebar tavern in Wakefield Quebec. We've been around for more than 13 years as a music venue although we started as a logger's tavern and roadhouse back in 1928.As a music club, we've hosted many award winners and international acts. There are live performances every weekend and artists love performing in this one horse tinytown.
The Heart & Crown ByWard has been in operation since April 1992. It opened as a 50 seat restaurant with a 30 seat patio. Five years later, the company doubled in size when the Snug Pub was opened and attached to the Heart & Crown - quickly becoming a favourite spot for Irish regulars.
Patty Boland's is the Byward Market's pub for all ages, featuring both Irish fare and contemporary cuisine in a hand-crafted interior decorated with antiques, iron works and five fireplaces, designed by Anne Browne. The pub also offers Ottawa's only authentic Irish carvery. Live music can be heard from Thursday to Saturday. Check out our entertainment page for upcoming bands.
Attended last night. The server was good and the place looked nice. They even offered gluten free pasta which is a bonus. Their menu looks good. But only on paper. The Pasta was slightly over aldente and borderline crunchy. The steak was awful and the steak pasta was bad also. The saving grace were the scallop and antipasto apps. Overall not better than a 3/5. Their mains need a lot of work.
Attended Hy's like I usually do for special occasions and this time I noticed that it wasn't what I remembered it. The service was not up to par with prior visits and nor was the food quality. I didn't feel like I got my money's worth.
The food was great. We shared the trio of meats and 3 sides for 29.99 and had a few Jack Daniel's to start. I HIGHLY recommend the Honey Jack with Diet Coke. Food and Service were all perfect. It was fairly cold in the restaurant and our table was in the walkway. Seems like they are squishing in tables. If you can sit on the inside of the walkway if not you might get bumped and... distracted from your evening. All in all Amazing food you have to try it. Love all the Sauces. great Gluten free options.
Great selection of wine flights. But the Cheese plate is stale and old. They haven't changed it in years. Same regular boring cheeses. How about bringing in something new, charge more. But something new. No one wants to spend 12-19 bucks for cheese they get at home.
