There are trips you plan… and then there are trips that just hit different. This one? It delivered across the board—sun, waves, energy, and just enough chaos to make it memorable without ever crossing into stressful territory.
It all started with a quick three-night stop in Fort Lauderdale—a place that feels like the perfect warm-up act before the main event.
We stayed at the The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, which turned out to be a perfect home base. Clean, modern, and just steps from the ocean—it checked all the boxes. But the real star of the show wasn’t the hotel… it was the water.
The waves were legit.
Not just “nice beach day” waves—these were the kind that make you grab a boogie board and stay out there for hours. Every ride felt like a mini adrenaline rush. It’s rare to get conditions like that consistently, but Fort Lauderdale delivered.
Even though it was spring break, something surprising stood out: it never felt overwhelming. Sure, there were crowds in pockets, especially around the more popular zones, but where we were? It felt relaxed, safe, and easy to enjoy. No chaos, no nonsense—just good vibes.
Nights were spent walking down Las Olas Boulevard, which has that perfect mix of energy and style. Restaurants buzzing, palm trees lit up, people out enjoying themselves—it’s one of those places that just feels alive without trying too hard.
When it was time to head to the port, the transition couldn’t have been easier. A quick Uber ride, no stress, no complications. Within minutes, we went from beach mode to full-on cruise mode.
There’s something about stepping onto a cruise ship that instantly flips a switch. The energy changes. The mindset shifts. You’re no longer just traveling—you’re floating your way through the next chapter.
First stop: Puerto Plata.
We stayed around Taino Bay, and honestly—it was one of those “just go with the flow” days. No overplanning, no rushing. Just walking, exploring, and soaking it all in.
The port itself is vibrant—colors, music, shops, and that unmistakable Caribbean rhythm. It’s built for cruise travelers but still carries that authentic Dominican feel. We grabbed drinks, found a spot to relax, and just enjoyed the moment.
Sometimes the best travel days aren’t packed with activities—they’re the ones where you slow things down and actually feel where you are.
Next stop: San Juan.
No overthinking here—we grabbed a cab and headed straight to the beach near the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel.
And it paid off.
Clean water, great atmosphere, and just the right amount of energy. It’s the kind of place where you can post up, unwind, and forget about everything else. The convenience was key—no complicated planning, just a simple ride and boom… you’re exactly where you want to be.
That’s one of the underrated moves when traveling: don’t over-engineer every stop. Sometimes the best play is the simplest one.
Then came Nassau.
We took a quick cab over to Cabbage Beach—and if you know, you know. This beach is different.
The water color alone looks like something out of a postcard—bright, clear, almost unreal. But what really stood out again? The waves.
There’s a pattern forming here.
Between Fort Lauderdale and Nassau, the boogie boarding conditions were unreal. Not too aggressive, not too soft—just that perfect middle ground where you can catch wave after wave without wiping out every two seconds.
It’s one of those places where time disappears. You look up, and suddenly hours have gone by.
The destinations were great—but the cruise itself tied everything together.
There’s something unbeatable about waking up in a new place without having to pack, drive, or deal with logistics. One day you’re in Florida, the next you’re in the Dominican, then Puerto Rico, then the Bahamas.
It’s efficient, it’s smooth, and it lets you focus on what actually matters: enjoying the experience.
Between stops, it was all about relaxing—good food, ocean views, and that steady rhythm of being out at sea. It’s a different kind of pace, and once you settle into it, it’s hard to go back.
What made this trip stand out wasn’t just one thing—it was the combination.
No major hiccups. No safety concerns. No overcomplicated planning.
Just a smooth, fun, high-quality experience from start to finish.
If you’re looking for a trip that blends beach time, movement, and a bit of adventure without going overboard on logistics, this is the blueprint.
Three nights in Fort Lauderdale.
Hop on a cruise.
Let the ocean handle the rest.
And if you get waves like we did?
Ship it.
